[VLOG] Making Art People Want To Purchase

Hello friends!

Monday morning when I opened up my laptop to begin my week’s work, I read an e-mail in my inbox from someone on my newsletter list.

They asked me if they want to have a career in art licensing and building a brand like mine, where they should start, because they want to focus on the right stuff from the get go.

That is a great question.

NO ONE WANTS TO WASTE THEIR TIME WORKING ON THINGS THAT WILL NOT HELP THEIR ART BUSINESS ACTUALLY GROW.

I thought about that question for a while, actually. When I think about my own career, how it has blossomed, grown, twisted and turned over the last 13 years, what is the single thing that has been essential for my own growth?

THE ART.

Not just any art.

Making art that people really want to purchase.

• With art licensing, your art will help manufacturers sell their products
• With creating your own products, like stickers, greeting cards, and tea towels, the art has to speak your dream customer
• With Print on Demand sites, you’ve got to have LOTS of the right art so that as someone is filtering through all the products to choose from, YOUR ART reaches through the computer screen and grabs your future customer by the shirt and says “Hey there, I’m just what you’ve been looking for”.

We are all artists here. So I know I can say this to you. I bet you love making art. So do I. But, have you thought about making the kind of art that will sell someday?
